The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Women Family and Community Development and DET Forum organised a 10-day National Level Training of Trainer on Disability Equality Training. The workshop was held from 13 to 25 January, 2014 at the Training Institute of the National Council of Welfare and Social Development in Bandar Baru Sentul.
A total of 7 participants from Sabah, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, 2 from Rwanda and 2 from Uzbekistan spent 10 days learning to see disability from the Social Model of Disability perspective and making action plans, and skills on developing the structure of DET, making slides and facilitating workshops.
Together with 3 other senior trainers and under the guidance of Dr Kenji Kuno, I took turns to play the role of facilitator and co-facilitator to the participants, making sure that they fully understood the various modules in order for them to become effective trainers when they return to the respective organisations and countries.
The Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) organised a Disability Equality Training workshop for employers in Batu Pahat, Johor. This is to complement the Return to Work program and give employers a better understanding of disability issues and encourage them to take proactive actions to make the workplace inclusive and accessible. A total of 31 participants from various industries attended the one-day workshop.

This workshop to train senior job coach trainers was organised by Job Coach Network Malaysia and Japan International Cooperation Agency. It was held at Menara PERKESO in Kuala Lumpur. Among the topics covered were designing training courses, facilitation skills, techniques for making PowerPoint slides and presentation.
This one-day Disability Equality Training Workshop was organised by Malaysian Advocates for Cerebral Palsy in collaboration with Jabatan Pembangunan Orang Kurang Upaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and DET Forum. It was held at Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was attended by 19 participants and co-facilitated with Ms Elizabeth Ang.
28 – 30 November, 2012
University of Malaya organised a DET workshop for its Disability Liaison officers at the Perdanasiswa Complex to enable them to understand disability issues and ways to solve them.
